Travel Grants

The Nordonia Schools Foundation, a group of volunteer alumni, business owners, and community members, is committed to the success of the Nordonia Hills City School District. We value education and believe that everyone in the community benefits when we maintain strong schools. We strive to create a deeply invested community that collectively ensures all Nordonia students experience a sense of belonging, receive an excellent and equitable education, and reach their fullest potential. In the spirit of this vision, the Foundation has created two new funds.

Local Experience Grant:

Created in 2024, this grant is ideal for students who need assistance for local travel to educational experiences. Examples of appropriate experiences for this fund include Cedar Point Physics Day, Playhouse Square field trips, Acapella/choir camps, artistic opportunities, and more. These experiences do not include an overnight stay. Students can apply directly for funding through the Foundation. Guidance counselors and/or administrators can also direct families/students to the online application.

Traveling Knights Grant:

Created in 2024, this grant is appropriate for students who need assistance with overnight travel expenses. We believe that global travel is an opportunity to experience other cultures, create well-rounded global citizens, and reinforce the values inherent in the Nordonia Hills’ Portrait of a Knight ideal. Yet, we recognize that costs are prohibitive for some families. Examples of these experiences might include 8 th Grade Washington DC trip, Band Camp, or travel through the EF Travel experiences at Nordonia High School. Students in need of assistance can apply for funding to offset these costs directly through the Foundation website. Nordonia staff can also direct families/students to the online application.
